Meet your Eco Gardening Coach
Byddi Lee is an experienced gardener on two continents.
Raised in Ireland, she has a Science Degree in Environmental Biology from the Queen's University of Belfast. After graduating, she worked in Queen's as a Research Associate in the field of Ecology and during this time completed a Master Of Science. She has also worked on Ecology projects in both the USA and South Africa, and is published in the Journal of Ecology.
She worked as a High School Biology and Chemistry teacher for 15 years, teaching Biology to Advanced level. During this time she won the 3M Environmental Teaching award and had the opportunity to take part in an Earthwatch expedition to Shenandoah Valley, Virginia.
Always, she loved to garden, but it wasn't until she came to California in 2008 that she had the opportunity to take on gardening as a full-time enterprise. She is a fully qualified Master Gardener for Santa Clara County. She has also volunteered with habitat restoration at Edgewood Preserve and the Lake Cunningham Native plant garden. She is a member of the California Native Plant Society.
